"Look at the river in sections, look people in the face."

-Hmong Proverb

I believe it is important to live a life of positive consequence for my community. As such, I have spent most of my adult life in some form of public service to my nation, state, and community.

Enlisting into the military at the age of 17, and would end up with a ten year military career in the US Army and Minnesota National Guard (1999-2009). During my time in service I obtained three different M.O.S. qualifications:

  • 12B Combat Engineer

  • 63sB Light and Heavy Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic

  • 92F Petroleum Supply Specialist

As a soldier I participated in three major operations:

  • Operation Kastle in 2000 as a combat engineer.

  • Operation Alaskan Road in 2001 as a combat engineer.

  • Operation Iraqi Freedom (Task Force 34): 2008-2009 as a petroleum supply specialist.

In 2008 I was deployed for a year to the Iraq War with the 834th ASB. While in country our small unit fueled over 5,000 helicopters, over a million gallons of fuel, and achieved the meritorious unit accommodation.

  • Served a member of the Falcon Heights Fire Department from 2013-2016.

  • Served as a member of the Falcon Heights Parks Commission from 2013-2017.

  • Created content inducted into the Library of Congress in 2014.
